Cardiopulmonary Assessment System Cosmed Quark CPET
Quark CPET is a state-of-the-art metabolic platform for analysing gas exchange (VO2, VCO2) either during exercise or at rest (RMR). High-quality sub-systems and high-speed gas analysers ensure high accuracy, reliability and real-time “Breath by Breath” cardiorespiratory gas analysis, even during high-intensity exercise.
It is a system that can use both sampling technologies, “breath by breath” and optionally, “mixing chamber”. It is scientifically certified for both sampling techniques over a wide range of exercise intensities.
It provides features such as:
- Measurement of Resting Metabolic Rate with a mask
- Measurements concerning parameters:
- VO2
- VCO2
- RQ
- Lactate Threshold
- Energy Expenditure
- Use of Energy Substrate
- Heart Rate
- Cardiorespiratory Excercise Control
Maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) during intense or maximal exercise is an indicator of the body’s maximum functional capacity and a criterion for evaluating cardiorespiratory capacity. Differences occur in men and women subject to age. By measuring VO2max we monitor endurance and health, and learn how advanced levels of performance can be achieved, safely and effectively.
