Zinc is one of the most important minerals in the body. It is also one of the 24 micronutrients needed for survival. After iron, it is the second most common component of our body, as it is essential in many biochemical processes and aids the function of several enzymes.

Zinc should only be taken with the consent of your doctor. Some patients may experience mild gastrointestinal upset, such as nausea when taking zinc on an empty stomach. Also, long-term intake of 25mg or more of zinc is likely to lead to anemia. Avoid taking during pregnancy and lactation.
